History
The making of fabrics and knittings was one of the main crafts in Bulgaria which has gradually turned into a textile industry during the Bulgarian National Revival. Under the influence of the developing of the textile technology in the Western European countries around 1915 – 1920 in Bulgaria has also developed the passementerie manufacturing in small private factories. In 1936 were registered 14 passementerie factories with 550 weaving looms and flecht machines. At a later stage, during the nationalization, the manufacturing was focused in Sofia and Plovdiv.
The main leading center of the passementerie manufacturing became Parvomay with the establishing, building and the continuously developing of the passementerie enterprise, which today is “ISKRA” Ltd. With a decree of the Council of Ministers №261/16.12.1961 the passementerie working unit of the situated in Plovdiv industrial plant “Srebryu Babakov” was transferred to the plant in Parvomay, which laid the foundations of the passementerie manufacturing. In September-October 1962 started the regular production which included 80 articles – technical and decorating. In 1976 began a large modernization by purchasing 106 rapier and 11 jacquard looms, also base-knitting hackel machines with high output and sampling capacities from the leading companies in this branch - “Muller” - Switzerland and “Comez” - Italy. In 1983-1990 the technical and technological modernization went on and were bought another 46 new repier weaving machines together with the introducing of a license for producing fine elastic bands from company “Gold-Zack” - Germany. As a result the range of the produced articles became more varied, which exceeded 4000 kinds. “ISKRA” Ltd is a company with private capital, which develops its investment program by emphasizing the priorities to renovate the production facilities and to fulfill the needs of the customers with attractive articles and competitive prices.
During the period 2005-2011 were built 2 new holiday houses: in the village of Stoykite in the Rhodope mountains and at the seaside – in St. Vlas resort at the Black Sea. They are both available for free to the employees of the company.
